Molecular Biology Graduate Program

Program History

The Molecular Biology Graduate Program supervisors belong mostly to the Departments of Biochemistry and Biophysics of Escola Paulista de Medicina (EPM/UNIFESP). The program started in 1971 and has received the highest grades since evaluation of all Brazilian Graduate Programs was established by CAPES, and is “Grade 7” in a 3-7 scale. There are 4 concentration areas in the Program: Biophysics; Biochemistry; Celular and Molecular Biology and Neuroscience. The main research interests are: Structural biology; Biochemistry of disease; Structure, activities and synthesis of peptides; Extracellular matrix; Proteases and inhibitors; Glicobiology; Neurobiology; Neurochemistry; Lipid vesicles; Nanocompounds; Thrombosis and hemostasis; Cancer; Gene and cell therapy.
