In order to develop their research, the program's students are free to use research laboratories and clinical sectors for patient care.
These laboratories use several different research techniques involving electrophysiology, biochemistry, molecular biology, microscopy, cell biology, cell culture, animal models, etc. They also include research projects funded by major funding agencies (FAPESP, CNPq, CAPES, FINEP).
Patient care is performed in specialized sectors that have multidisciplinary teams composed mostly of physicians, psychologists, physical therapists and nurses.
The research laboratories are located basically in three research buildings of the Paulista School of Medicine (UNIFESP):
-
Research Building II
- Experimental Neurology Laboratory;
- Neurobiology of Epilepsy Laboratory;
- Neuroscience Laboratory;
- Neurobiology Laboratory.
-
Research Building I
- Molecular Neurology Laboratory;
- Malignant Hyperthermia Laboratory.
-
