The Doctoral Program of the Post-Graduation and Research Program in Otorhinolaryngology of the Escola Paulista de Medicina-Unifesp has as its objectives the preparation of teaching and the development of the ability to conduct original and independent research in Otorhinolaryngology, Cranial Base and Head Surgery And Neck.

Students without the Master's Degree may be admitted to the Direct Doctoral Course provided they prove relevant scientific production and are of interest to CEPG.

Requirements

The Doctor's Degree requires in a minimum period of 24 months and a maximum of 48 months, the following achievements:

1. 60 (sixty) credits that can be attributed by the tutor or CEPG because of their participation in courses, seminars, scientific meetings, didactic-professional activities or assistance;

2. Compulsory courses of the course;

2. Periodically discuss the progress of the research in a scientific meeting designated by CEPG, with mandatory presence of the superbisor and, if any, of the 2nd-supervisor;

3. Submit the research project to the Qualification Exam for a Examination Bank composed of at least 03 (three) teachers whose maximum deadline is six months after the end of the PhD.

4. Proceed to the public defense of thesis or articles, at least two, published or accepted for publication in indexed journals that represents original and significant contribution to Otorhinolaryngology, Skull Base, Head and Neck Surgery and related areas;

5. Article referring to the thesis, forwarding it for publication in an indexed journal.

The defense of doctoral thesis, even with the obtaining of the totality of credits, does not exempt the student from the activities assigned to him in the semester period. (January to June, July to December).

To obtain the Doctor's Degree, students holding the Master's Degree may use the credits already obtained, and must fulfill at least 30 credits to complete the required number of credits.
